There will always be something happening in one of our many regions, whether it’s a social meet-up, a ride-out, a charity event, or a trip away.

Our members ride all types of bikes, including sports bikes, naked bikes, scooters, tourers, and cruisers. Our members range in abilities from L-plates to more experienced IAM and RoSPA observers and motorcycle instructors.

Whatever your experience, you’ll be welcome at Evolution WMCC.

Why Join Us

Riding Events and Experiences

We organise a range of riding events and experiences. From rider improvement training to track days, weekends away, regular ride outs and group get togethers.

Social Benefits

You will meet new like-minded friends. There are monthly socials and get togethers as well as other non-bike related social activities.

Community Involvement

We organise and help with charity fundraising events including those for children’s hospitals and veteran care. It’s another way to meet people in the biking and wider community.

You Don’t Have To Ride Alone

There is always someone who can make an ad-hoc trip or ride out. There is also the opportunity to go to places you may never have been before and do it on a bike with your friends!

Improving Your Skills

We give you the opportunity to ride in groups of varying sizes and learn how to do so safely, arrange basic maintenance courses and provide opportunities and encouragement to try a variety of advanced riding courses.

It’s Great Fun

Lastly because it’s great fun! The friendships that can be made will be ones that will last a lifetime. Everything is so much more fun when we are sharing happy times together.

What We've Been Up To

We were delighted to share our story with one of the UK’s top motorcycling publications, Motorcycle News. The article communicates our spirit, support, and camaraderie that make Evolution Women’s MCC what it is – and why we’re so proud to be part of such a brilliant community

“The group’s full of spirit and like-minded friends”

Bike clubs don’t get much better than this…

By Alison Silcox
Office Manager

From bricklayer to brain surgeon, the members of Evolution WMCC come from all walks of life and have one thing in common – their passion for all things two-wheeled.

Founded around seven years ago by a spirited bunch who wanted something different from the clubs that were on offer to female riders, they are a tight-knit and active group with a dedicated membership (numbers are close to 150) and are spread countrywide.

MCN caught up with some of the group on a Saturday rideout and spoke with Jayne Tollan, 56, who’s affectionately known as JT and Deborah Ferguson, 42. Jayne and Debbie are founder members and live in the North West, they regularly tour the UK and beyond on their Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and Triumph Street Triple 765RS.

“The group’s full of spirit, camaraderie, like-minded friends, riders and laughter,” says Debbie.

“I’m involved in promoting safe riding,” adds JT. “I work with Police Scotland on their ‘Live Fast, Die Old’ campaign, so I’m passionate about advanced training.”

With this in mind, the group’s ethos is to try to help riders improve. Many of the girls are IAM or RoSPA accredited, plus there’s active promotion of Biker Down training too. It’s not forced on members to take further training, but it’s evident they value advanced training and encourage riders to progress and improve their skills.

There is a £15 annual membership sub, which includes a full package of benefits, such as badged-up goodies, access to rideouts and events, plus you get a chance to have your say, as it’s a very democratic group. The only stipulations are that you need to be female and ride motorcycles, it doesn’t matter if you have your CBT certificate or have been riding for years, as long as you get out regularly on two wheels.

Regional groups have their own specific activities, but members are welcome to join wherever they live. It’s not all about women-only trips, they have family days and some of the girls’ partners are invited along for the ride. There’s an ‘Annual Adventure’, which gives members the chance to come together as a larger group for a weekend of riders and a catch-up. They’re secretive about the location, to ensure security of their beloved machines, and venues vary each year, they’ve been to Moffat, Mid-wales and beyond.

Rideouts vary in length and, with so many of the members being experienced riders, their support is invaluable to increase the confidence of more novice riders. That said, safe overtakes and progressive riding are allowed, so as not to lose enjoyment for those with experience. There’s an eclectic mix of bikes within the group, from scooters and 125s through to all manner of larger capacity machines. Triumph Street Triples are popular due to their physical size. A drop-off system, with lead rider and ‘Tail-end Charlie’, is employed on all rideouts, to ensure safety, while having fun and most importantly of all, no woman gets left behind!
